Why Your Business Needs a Social Media Manager!


Whether you’ve just started a new business, or your company has been around for a while, you know you can’t do everything yourself. A lot of business owners spend a majority of their time working on products or services. Their focus is the client, the sale, the substance of the business. Sure, business owners know that in order to be successful they have to market the business. But advertising has changed so much in the past decade, and continues to do so. Can you really stay on top of all of it yourself? This is where the social media manager comes in. Here are 5 (which isn’t even close to all of them) good reasons to hire a social media manager today!

1. You’re in business, well, to run your business!

Unless your business is a social media marketing business, it’s not where your expertise, passion, or experience is. You started a business because you believed in a product or could provide a service. You’ve always wanted to own a restaurant, or you love clothing so you opened a consignment store. That’s where your focus should be, not on trying to babysit multiple social media accounts, writing content, taking pictures, or keeping up with the postings and comments on all of your pages. Do what you do best, which is why you started the business in the first place!

2. Social media platforms are always changing the rules!

Social media managers stay on top of the new policies and guidelines across all the major social media platforms. Just when you think you’ve got something figured out, they throw a wrench in your whole program. Having someone whose entire business is social media assures that your business is on top of the trends and is utilizing your accounts in the best way possible!

3. Consistency!

If you want to engage your fans , customers, and clients, you can’t put a post up every three months and expect people to respond or continue to follow you. And certainly don’t expect to pick up new subscribers. Information moves fast. If a potential customer searches for your page and the last thing on it is six month old news, they won’t be impressed.

4. Customer Responses and Engagement!

Overall, you are trying to formulate an online community. Just putting up posts or videos with no future responses is incredibly one-sided, and won’t foster any kind of relationship. Social media easily creates a more personal relationship between businesses and their customers, but it doesn’t work when there isn’t mutual interaction.

5. Creativity

Your social media manager will know what type of content is working best, and how to affordably create it. They stay on top of the best programs and are constantly evolving the way they do things to stay current. Social media, realistically, is where most people come to be entertained. If you can’t produce original, imaginative, and engaging content, it’s better to hire someone who can.
